COX — OLDFIELD
The Methodist Church, Limestone, was the scene of a quiet, but pretty wedding on, Wednesday evening, 28th July when Rev. S. G. Drummond, of Rylstone, joined in the holy bonds of matrimony, Mr Albert Harold Cox, youngest son of Mr. William Cox, of Triangle, near Mudgee, and Miss Ruby May Oldfield, eldest daughter of Mr. James C. Oldfield, of Lucknor, Stony Pinch. The church was prettily decorated by the bride's friends. Mrs. Drummond played, "The Voice That Breathed O'er Eden" while the choir sang as the bride entered the church on the arm of her father, who gave her away. She was prettily attired in ivory crepe de chene over ivory broche, with long square train, trimmed with orange blossoms and true lovers' knots of seed pearls. The vest of the bodice was nicely trimmed with silver embroidery and pearls, and orange blossoms. She also wore the customary wreath and veil, the latter being kindly lent by the bride's cousin, Mrs. Buckley, Sydney, who used it herself in 1915. The bride carried a beautiful bouquet of white stocks, jonquils, and asparagus fern, with long white streamers. The bridesmaids were Misa Doria Oldfield, sister of the bride (who was attired in ivory crepe de chene, with tunic and vest of shadow lace, and white hat trimmed with moss roses and ivory ribbon), and Miss Nellie Cox, sister of the bridegroom (attired in ivory silk voile, silk hat, with white posy. Both bridesmaids carried pretty bouquets of choice flowers. Mr. Les. Cox, brother of the groom, filled the role of best man. As the happy young couple left the church they were showered with confetti. Later in the evening they left for their future home "Westwood," Gulgamree (Cudgegong). The presents were numerous and costly. On Friday night, prior to the wedding, the friends of the bride gave her a kitchen tea, held at her father's residence. Many very useful gifts were received.

Together they had 3 children.

  1. Mavis Lorraine (Cox) Tomkins
  2. Valma Fay (Cox) Rains
  3. Albert William Cox

Albert passed away[4] on Wednesday, 21st January 1981 at Pioneer House, Mudgee[5], New South Wales, Australia, aged 90 years, 3 months, 16 days, and is interred[6] at Mudgee Cemetery, Buckaroo, New South Wales, Methodist Section, Row E.
