Hi Micala,

One of our mentors created a tutorial for the GEDCOMpare process that others found very helpful. I hope that you will too.

If you have any questions about how WikiTree works, let us know by using the "reply" link under our comments, or by clicking our names to visit our profiles. From there, you can leave a comment, or send a private message.

Hi Micala,

Thank you for adding your DNA Test to your profile on WikiTree. Getting Started with DNA will tell you more about how DNA kits are used on WikiTree.

DNA at WikiTree provides a visual way for you to find others who have tested and with whom you might have ancestors in common. It normally takes 24 hours from adding a test, or adding a new ancestor, or ancestor’s descendant, for WikiTree to display your name and test results on your ancestors and their descendants’ profiles for potential cousins to compare results with.

Have fun!

Claire ~ WikiTree Greeter

PS - if you look to the right side of your profile, there's a button that says, "Cox-29043." If you click on it, there's a drop down menu. Almost to the bottom is a link that says something about finding "Relationships." That's a quick way to see if you are related to Mikayla or anyone else on WikiTree.  :)

Hi Micala,

Welcome to WikiTree! I noticed that you are following the surname Potter, my Grandmother is also a Potter. I look forward to seeing how we might be related. If you need any help with your family tree I'd be glad to help!

Best Regards, Mikayla Whitaker

Hi Mikayla

Thank you for the warm welcome! My Potter link is also from my grandmother; her family is from Alabama. I haven't gotten too far back though; only to Green Potter (1872), father of Carlos Potter (1907). I'm not really sure how to read the GEDmatch comparisons, but I do have that on my profile if you want to try!

Well wishes! - Micala Cox

PS. Sometimes links don't work in emails. If that's happened to you, check the public comments on your profile as the links will work from there.
