Nathan Cox was born before 1795 probably in Virginia. [citation needed]
Corporal Nathan Cox enlisted three times in Captain Bryan's Company, Virginia Militia during the War of 1812. [1] He served from 26 June 1813 to 14 July 1813, from 26 June 1814 to 15 February 1814, and from 8 September 1814 to 3 October 1814. [1]
Nathan Cox married Elizabeth (Greyham) Ratliff (1793-1884) on 15 September 1842. [2][1]
Nathan Cox died on 15 September 1845 in Allen County, Ohio. [1]

The pension card for Nathan Cox lists his widow has having been married before with married name Elizabeth Ratcliff. The pension card gives the dates of marriage and death of soldier and widow. [1]
