Biography

William H. Cox

William H. Cox, 75, was pronounced dead at Elyria Memorial Hospital at 1:30 PM yesterday, after he suffered a heart attack at his home, 375 Penfield Ave., The Elyria Fire Department emergency unit administered oxygen in a vain attempt to revive him.

Born in Cleveland, November 22, 1882, Mr. Cox resided in Elyria for 35 years. He was a retired employee at the Elyria Water Works, and a member of the First Baptist Church.

Surviving are three sons, William J, Lakewood, Robert L, Elyria, Ralph E., Flint, Mich.; three daughters, Mrs. Anthony Mayak, Mrs. John Szabo and Mrs. Elmer Ehlers, all of Elyria, 12 garndchildren and one great grandchild. His wife, Perarl M., died last July 20.

Friends may call at the Wainwright Funeral Home from 7 to 9:30 tonight and from 3:30 to 5 and 7 to 9:30 tomorrow.

Services will be held, Saturday at 2 PM in the funeral home with the Rev. Robert Reynhout officiating. Burial will be in Ridge Hill Memorial Park.
