Betsey Cox was born on July 9, 1772, daughter of Ebenezer Cox (1728–1795) and Lydia Woodbury (1734–1775).
Betsey (19) married Luke Staples (14) (born in August, 1777 in Bristol, Lincoln, Maine, United States) in 1792 in Portland, Cumberland, Maine.[1] Their daughter was Catharine Staples (~1798–1870).
