Michael Hallaran married Sarah Coyne on 4 February 1872 in the Oughterard Superintendent Registrar's District. Neither had been married before, and both were from Turlough. Michael was 26, a small farmer (as was his father Patt). Sarah was 20 years old, and her father Patrick Kyne was also a small farmer. Based on this information, Sarah was born around 1851, and Michael around 1846. [1]
In 1901, Michael Halloran, 54, was living in house 50 in Turlough (Turlough, Galway) along with his wife Sarah Halloran, 46. Their children, Patt Halloran, 25, Kate Halloran, 17, John Halloran, 19, Julia Halloran, 12, Thomas Halloran, 15, Sarah Halloran, 10, Michael Halloran, 8, and Norah Halloran, 6, were also living with them. Sarah's death on 31 Julyy 1936 (age 83) was registered in 1936 in the Oughterard Superintendent Registrar's District. She was a farmer, a widow who died of old age. The informant was her daughter-in-law, Annie Halloran.[3]
