Biography

There is a lack of clarity about this man's parentage, although the proposed match with Crabtree-580 is otherwise a match. For that reason, the proposed match is being re-categorized as an unmerged match.

He married there Jane HALSTEAD on 3d 5m 1703 and died 10d 12m 1756 in Kingsville, Saint John's Parish, Hartford County, Maryland. In 8m 2015 contributor Christopher Veltmann (#47941657) corrected this to read that William was born in Bristol, England and died on 10d 9m 1756. (above paragraph from Find a Grave)

Crabtree-580 and Crabtree-85 are not ready to be merged because: There's unresolved parentage. Crabtree-85 has different parents listed in database fields and in biography text. Candidate father Thomas Crabtree (Crabtree-182 and Crabtree-579, proposed merge entered) has two different wives. It is unlikely that both are the wives of the same man, so additional work is needed to resolve that question, too.

Merge with Crabtree-85 can't be completed due to conflicting parentage. Otherwise, it's a match. Too bad it's not sourced.

Crabtree-186 and Crabtree-85 appear to represent the same person because: We have four William Crabtree profiles with the same birthdate and place. If any of them are the same man, let's choose the most likely set of parents and discuss conflicting theories in the biography. Thanks!
