Wapakoneta Daily News: Michael Craft, a respected citizen of Wapakoneta, died at his home on W. Auglaize St., opposite the fair grounds, Monday, April 14, 1919, at 2:10 a.m., after an illness of more than three weeks, from bronchial pneumonia. He was the son of Edward and Susannah(Bush) Craft, and was born in Wapakoneta, June 7, 1847, and at the time of his death was aged 71 years, 10 months, 7 days. Mr. Craft followed the occupation of a farmer practically all of his life. September 8, 1868, he was united in marriage with Miss Sarah Eckenweiler, and to this union twelve children were born, six of whom ,four daughters, and two sons, are dead. The living children are: Miss Elizabeth Craft, of Toledo; Joseph Craft, Mrs. Mary Metzger, Mrs. Rose Roby, Samuel Craft, and Mrs. Agnes Kreiger of this city. His wife died a number of years ago, and he again married, taking Miss Lidia A. Annesser, of this city, as his wife, January 17, 1906, and no children were born to them. He was a faithful member of St. Joseph's Catholic church, during his entire life, and was a kind and loving husband and father. Besides his wife and six children, he also leaves 14 grandchildren; one brother, Edward Craft, of St. Marys; and five sisters: Mrs. Anna Kuntz, of Udell, Kansas; Miss Elizabeth and Susan Craft, at home; Mrs. Mary Metzger, residing north of town and Mrs. Josephine Kinstle, of Lima. Funeral services from St. Joseph's Catholic church, Wednesday morning at 9 o'clock, conducted by Rev. Julian Mayer. The remains laid to rest in St. Joseph Cemetery. Friends are asked to please omit flowers.[metzger1.FTW].
