Biography

Sarah CRAFT was born in 1779 in Stepney, London, England and baptised on 10 Mar 1779 at St. Mary Whitechapel, Stepney, London, England.

She was the daughter of Edward Craft (abt.1746-1817) and his wife Susannah, née Perkins (1749-1784), living at Catherine Wheel Alley, Stepney.[1]

Research Notes

Sarah did not die in Jan 1816 or Jun 1819 Many Ancestry Trees give Sarah's death date as 'abt. 1816', presumably based on the burial records for a Sarah Craft on 21 Jan 1816 in Islington. However, study of the image available in the England & Wales, Non-Conformist and Non-Parochial Registers, 1567-1936 on Ancestry reveals the the Sarah Craft who died that day was 6 weeks old, so could not have been born in 1772.
