Gouverneur Tribune Press - Wednesday Dec 27, 1933 Mrs. Susan Alice Craft Rees died at her home on Main street in this village about eleven Thursday night after a long illness. About a month ago she contracted pneumonia from which she recovered but never regained her strength. Mrs. Rees was born at Hermon May 3, 1854. She was twice married. Her first husband was Lowell White. To this marriage five children were born, one dying in infancy and a daughter, Mrs. Gertrude Whitmore died in 1915. Mr. White died in 1882. Two years later she was married to David E. Rees, and four children were born to this union, two dying in infancy.

After their marriage, Mr. and Mrs. Rees settled on a farm about three miles from Richville where they resided until about thirteen years ago, when they started to make their home in Richville. Mr. and Mrs. Rees were both active members of the Richville Congregational church. Mrs. Rees is survived by her husband and five children, three daughters by her first marriage, Mrs. Maud Whitmore of Gouverneur, Mrs. Ora Downing of Richville and Mrs. Jennie Kinney of Depeyster, and two sons by her latter marriage, John H. Rees, proprietor of the Rees Hotel in this village and Rev. David A Rees of Elmira.
