Eleazer Crafts was an officer during the Revolutionary War, serving as a Major in Col. James Collins's 6th Essex County regiment, commissioned April 24, 1777, and as Major in Col. Samuel Johnson's regiment, and as a Lieutenant Colonel in the Essex County Militia.

Eleazer Crafts was born on July 31, 1743 in Ipswich, Essex County, Province of Massachusetts Bay, son of Benjamin Craft (1706–1746) and Margaret Choate (~1709–1767).
