Bernard and Minnie both were in school through the 8th grade. All report they were born in Kentucky and were living in rural Marion County in 1935. Bernard is a farmer. [2]

Shirley Ann Craig Spalding, 72, Finley, died Monday, March 1, 2010 at her residence.

Born May 1, 1937 in Marion County, Spalding was a former employee of Jane and Linda Sportswear and a member of Our Lady of the Hills Catholic Church.

She was preceded in death by: her parents, Bernard McDonald and Minnie Etta Colvin Craig; a brother, Paul Craig; and two sisters, Deloris and Geneva Craig.

Survivors include: her husband, James Darrell Spalding of Finley; a son, Jimmy D. (Linda) Spalding of Finley; a brother, Robert (Lucy) Craig of Lebanon; two grandsons, Jimmy (Lavonna) Spalding and Jason (Beth) Spalding; and three great-grandchildren, Makayla, Preston and Jacie Spalding.

A funeral Mass was held Thursday, March 4, 2010, at Our Lady of the Hills Catholic Church with burial in Our Lady of the Hills Church Cemetery. Rev. James Bromwich officiated.

Active pallbearers were Jimmy Spalding, Ronnie Colvin, Jason Spalding, Jerry Craig, Donnie Knopp and Donnie Craig.

Honorary pallbearers were Joe Ford, Charlie Spalding, John Thomas and Wayne Shivley.

Bosley Funeral Home, Lebanon, was in charge of the arrangements.[4]
