Biography

William Craig was the son of Thomas Craig and Jean Beath. He was born on 18 Aug 1822 at Paisley High Church, Renfrewshire, Scotland. [1]

He was living at Paisley High Church in 1851. He was a hand loom weaver. His wife Margaret, and children Sarah, Thomas, Margaret and Jane were also in the household. [2]

William arrived in New South Wales with his wife Margaret aged 34, and children Sarah aged 12, Thomas aged 8, Margaret aged 5 and Jane aged 3 on the Beejapore in 1853. He was a weaver aged 30, from Paisley, Renfrewshire. His parents were named as Thomas and Jane, both dead. [3][4]

He died aged 46 at Sydney, NSW. [5]
