Found in The State 05 August 1985: Alvin M. Craig, 58, died Sunday. Born in Lexington County, he was a son of Mrs. Eula Mitchell Craig and the late Sam Craig. He was a member of Forest Hills Baptist Church and was a self-employed building contractor. He was an Army veteran of World War II and the Korean conflict. Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Helen Elizabeth Flemming Craig; sons, Alvin E., Thomas R., and William K. Craig of Columbia and Raymond L. Craig of Greenville; daughters, Misses Betty A., and Helen R. Craig of Greenville; his mother of Greenville; a brother, Raymond F. Craig of Pickens; a sister, Mrs. Pat Harris of Tampa, Fla; and grandchildren. Services will be held at 3 p.m. Tuesday at Thompson Funeral Home of West Columbia with burial in Olympia Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
