Biography

Alexander Craig was born in Belfast 1846/1847. [1]

He was the son of office keeper James Craig. [2]

In 1874 he was a Clerk residing Belfast. [2]

He married Marie Metzenen at Castlereagh Presbyterian Church, Belfast, 03 November 1874. [2]

Their children were:

  1. 1875 Jeannie Craig.
  2. 1877 James Humbert Craig.
  3. 1879 Emma Elizabeth Craig.
  4. 1880 Constance Craig.
  5. 1886 Marie Sabine Craig.

"Soon after [the 1877 birth of James Humbert Craig, the] family moved to Ballyholme Road, Bangor County Down. Here they built a house and named it ‘Craigwelyn’ after the last name of the family." [3]

Aged 54 in 1901 he was a Wholesale Tea Dealer residing 20 Ballyholme Road, Bangor, County Down, with his wife and five children. [1]

Aged 64 in 1911 he was a Tea Dealer residing 17 Ballyholme, with his wife and four children. [4]

Alexander died 31 May 1925. [5]
