Biography

If there is anything you can contribute to Henry's biography, you are more than welcome to message me or leave a comment.

Born 27 Sep 1866 in Schuyler County, Missouri, USA.

Henry is born to the farmer David Thomas Craig and his wife Mary Ann Cowell Craig.

3 Jun 1870 Henry is listed living with his parents and two younger siblings on a farm probably on his grandfather's property in Liberty Township, Schuyler County, Missouri.[1]

  • Craig David (24 years, male, white, farmer, no real estate, 300$ personal estate, born in Illinois)
  • Craig Mary A. (20 years, female, white, born in Iowa)
  • Craig Henry D. (3 years, male, white, born in Missouri)
  • Craig Charles O. ( 1 year, male, white, born in Missouri)
  • Craig Joanna (2 months, female, white, born in Missouri)

15 Jun 1880 Henry is still listed living on his parents' farm in Liberty, Schuyler, Missouri.[2]

  • Craid David (head, white, male, 35 years, married, farmer, born in Illinois, father born in Ohio, mother born in Illinois, can write and read)

  • Craid Oliver P. (son, white, male, 1 year, single, born in Missouri, father born in Illinois, mother born in Iowa)

27 Sep 1888 Henry marries Mary Elizabeth Kethe in Schuyler County, Missouri.[3]

Henry and Mary have at least one child together (Fannie Frances born 20 Jul 1889[4]), before they separate.

14 May 1893 Henry second marries Sarah E. Brown in in Keokuk, Iowa.[5]

I believe Sarah died just a few years later, since Henry is listed as widowed at his third marriage. I'm not sure, if they had any children together, who lived to adulthood. They had an unnamed baby boy christened on 31 Jan 1896 in Sigourney, Keokuk, Iowa.[6] No other records found so far.

01 Apr 1899 Henry third marries Flora (or Foley) E. Hall in Galesburg, Knox County, Illinois.[7]

This marriage doesn't last long either, but Henry and Flora at least have one daughter together: Dorothy M (*~1900)[8]

Note: I was not able to find Census listings for Henry in 1900, 1910 or 1920, so I can't be sure of his whereabouts, how he earned his money or if he raised any children.

Henry's mother dies in 1915 from Pulmonary Tuberculosis, his father five years later due to a tumor of the bladder in Dec 1920.

Died 30 Oct 1927 in Randolph, Missouri, USA.

Henry dies due to Nephritis when his is about 61 years old.[9]

Buried at the Germania Cemetery in Schuyler County, Missouri, USA.[10]
