Biography

Helen was born about 1821. She was baptized on 30 December 1821 at St. Peter's Lutheran Church, Rhinebeck, Dutchess County, New York.

She married James B. Cornwell on 20 January 1842 at the German Reformed Church, Lower Red Hook, Dutchess County, New York. He died in March 1872.

In the 1875 New York state census of population, Henry D. Ostrom and household were enumerated at Milan, Dutchess County, New York: -- Henry D. Ostrom, age 35, male, merchant; -- Francis Ostrom, age 29, female, wife; -- Ina Ostrom, age 9, female; -- Frederick Cornell, age 22, male, brother-in-law, clerk; -- Charles Cornell, age 18, male, brother-in-law; -- Emaline Cornell, age 53, female, mother-in-law.

She died on 27 March 1908 at Milan, Dutchess County, New York. She was buried at the Rhinebeck Cemetery, Rhinebeck, Dutchess County, New York.
