Biography

Edward Crondall was born in Gloucestershire, England.

Edward, likely the son of Nicholas Crondall of Tewkesbury, Gloucestershire, appears as a barber in a 1539/40 list of free tenants of Tewkesbury, as the holder of two tenements. He is also listed as one of fifteen freemen of Tewkesbury in a bishop's visitation list dated 1548.^[1]

On 20 Oct 1564, an Edward Crondall, curate of Tewkesbury, was named as a defendant in the Tewkesbury parish court. This record may be for a son of this Edward, but it remains unknown to whom this record applies.^[1]

Edward married, wife's name unknown, and is presumed to have had the following children:^[1]

• Nicholas;
• Edward, mentioned above, perhaps curate of Tewkesbury in 1564, and perhaps previously of Yorkshire, where an Edward Crundall was a father of another Edward Crundall, baptized there 14 May 1564.

Edward's date and place of death is unknown.
