He was named in the administration of his brother John's estate in 1608. He may be the James, godson of James Crundall of Stoke Gifford, Gloucestershire, who was named in the elder James's will dated 7 Jun 1610.
James is found in the records of Westerleigh between 1624 and 1649.
He married first to Eleanor ________, who was buried 8 Jun 1618 (or 1619) at Westerleigh, and they had one son:
John, bap. 15 Feb 1617/8 at Westerleigh, likely the John Crandall who settled in Rhode Island.
