Biography

Charles Crane was born on 26th November 1833 at Sydney, New South Wales, Australia. He was the second son of English emigrant, John Crane, a cobbler and leather worker, and his wife, Rebecca England.[1]

He married Mary Ann Kentwell on 17th April 1861 in Parramatta, New South Wales.[2][3]

  • CRANE—KENTWELL—April 17th, at St. Paul's Church, Castle Hill, by the Rev. Robert Taylor, Mr. Charles Crane, the second son of Mr. John Crane, to Mary Ann, the fourth daughter of Mr. John Kentwell, of the same place. (Sydney Morning Herald (NSW : 1842 - 1954), Tuesday 21 May 1861, page 11)

They had twelve children. Tragically 5 died in 1876 of scarlet fever

He passed away on 19th September 1926 at Parramatta, New South Wales.[4]
