Birth

Hezekiah Crane Jr. was born in March 1751 in Mansfield, Windham (later Tolland), Connecticut to Hezekiah Crane (1725-1795) and Tamesin Eldredge (1727-1771). [1]

He married Rachel Hall (1751-1781) on 14 April 1774 in Mansfield, Connecticut.

He served in the Continental Troops during the Revolutionary War in Capt. Isaac Sergeant's Co., Maj. Backus's Reg. of light horse in September and November 1776. They served in New York. He also served in the militia under Gen. Gates in 1777 and in Capt. Roswell Grant's Co. in 1778.

Private in Captain Isaac Sergeant's Company from Windham, Connecticut, of Ebenezer Backus' 4th Regiment of Connecticut Light Horse[2]

Occupation

He was a farmer and a livestock dealer.

Death

Hezekiah died on 22 April 1813 in Canton, St. Lawrence, New York, USA at the age of 62. There was an epidemic of some kind of fever at the time and this is said to be the cause of his death. His wife had died the year before.

Buried at Brick Chapel Cemetery, Canton, St. Lawrence, New York, USA. [3]
