Biography

Harriet Crane was born on 25 Apr 1825 [1] in Ohio. [2]

She married William H Boyd on 4 Mar 1845 in Butler County, Ohio. [3] [4]

In 1850 William and Harriet were living in Liberty Township, Butler, Ohio with 4 year old Squire and 2 year old Daniel. William was a Cooper, and the value of his real estate was $600. [2]

William died in 1852. In 1860, Harriet was still living in Liberty Township, with their three sons Squire B (14), William S (12), and David (10). [5]

She married William's brother Walter Boyd on 6 Jun 1864 in Butler County, Ohio. [6]

In 1870 she was living in Liberty Township with Walter, a farmer, Squire B (23) who was selling pianos, William S (21) and Dow C (19) who were both helping on the farm, Walter's 80 year old mother Elizabeth and a house servant and a child. [7]

In 1880 she and Walter were still in Liberty Township, living with her son David C Boyd, a farmer, Alice Fleming, a cousin of Walter's who was also with them in 1870, a servant, a laborer, her widowed sister (?) Eliza and nephew David. [8]

She died on 5 Jul 1896 at the age of 71 years, 2 months and 10 days, and was buried at Mound Cemetery in Monroe, Butler, Ohio. [1]
