William Cranfield was not a son of James Cranfield, Earl of MIddlesex and his wife, Anne Bourchier. James died 16 September 1651 without a son to succeed him. His heir was his brother, Lionel. [1]
A likely baptism for William is at Horseheath on 5 November 1637, son of Marke Cranfeild and Alice. [2]
On 20 February 1660 at St Peter in Cambridge William married Rebecka Hart.[3]
