Biography

When George W. Crapo was born on August 8, 1778, in Freetown, Massachusetts, his father, Consider Crapo, was 42 and his mother, Mercy West, was 39.

He had three brothers and eight sisters. Hannah (Crapo) Ashley, born 1758, Sarah Crapo, born 1760, Deborah (Crapo) Barney, born 1760, Mercy (Crapo) Barney, born 1765, Mary (Crapo) Barden, born 1767, Waitstill (Crapo) Barney, born 1769, Consider Crapo, born 1772, Noah Crapo, born 1774, John Crapo, born 1775, George Crapo, born 1778, Thankful Crapo, born 1780, and Prudence Crapo, born 1782.[1]

He died on February 14, 1848, in Pawlet, Vermont, at the age of 69.
