Biography
John was born in 1818 or 1819. He and brother Moses emigrated to Australia aboard the ship Albatross, arriving in Adelaide on 9 Sep 1850[1]. He passed away in 1867.

However, baptism record from 2 Aug 1818 tends to suggest that John was born in 1818, not 1819. Assumed to be correct baptism record because parents first names are correct, father's occupation listed as Mason (matching John and Moses' occupations), John Craven and Mary Swann were married in the same parish they year earlier (matching parents' names from
John's death record at Victorian BDM) and brother Moses was baptised in same parish in 1824:
