Bernard Claude Crawford was born 1 Oct 1906 in Cono Township, Buchanan County, Iowa, the son of Roy Crawford and Hattie Perkins.^[1][2]

Claude died suddenly at his home in Independence, Buchanan, Iowa, on 17 Oct 1955, aged 49 years.^[2] He is buried at Wilson Cemetery in Independence, Buchanan County, Iowa.^[3]

Claude married Marion Lucretia Klotz (1904–1999) on 23 Apr 1923 in Independence, Buchanan County, Iowa.^[4] Claude was aged 16 and Marion was 19. They had a daughter, Claudia M.
