Thank you for your message. In comparison to other genealogy sites WikiTree is new, it has only been around since 2008. It is different it is run by us the volunteers guided by a management team. It is different there is always someone around to help if you ask there are state projects to join were folk work together on family group
You will not find your family on here unless they have been added by someone already. There is one profile per person
You can move you Family search tree here and use the research links as well as the knowledge base of the community to research your ancestors. The genealogist 2 genealogist (G2G) forum is where questions are posed and the community assist in finding the answer

How is it going so far, were the Member How-Tos pages helpful or did they leave you with questions?
Clicking your green tags shows members who follow that tag. Add tags other family surnames, for locations. The tags link you to the community sourcing & research options Information on tags is on page one of the How To pages.
We want to help you learn about the site and the community, hopefully you found the pages and links useful.
Questions click my name & ask in the comment box on my page or post in the G2G Forum (see Help top right of your Profile

I am happy to congratulate you for becoming a full member of the WikiTree community! To help save you time, energy and frustration, please start with our New Member How-To pages.
Click the green Tag on your top right of your profile page and see others following the same things you are researching. The more Tags (20 is the maximum) you add that include locations, periods of history or other genealogical interests, the more links to the community research options.
Welcome to the WikiTree family! Please ask if you have any questions as I am always happy to help.
