Halifax Co., NC, DB 9, p. 262, 5 Dec 1761: "Thomas Crawford to Hannah Yancey of Halifax Co. 5 shillings proclamation money. 200 acres which was part of a Granville Grant to sd Crawford (date blank), joining Thos. Kearney, William Alston dec'd, Hugh Hardy. Thomas Crawford. Wit: William Hays, Thos. Kearney. Jul Ct. 1765."
Halifax Co., NC, DB 8, p. 363, Jan Ct. 1764: "Hannah Yancey of Halifax Co. executrix of the will her late husband Jeconias Yancey to Thomas Crawford planter of Craven Co., South Carolina. Jeconias Yancey apparently had owed a debt to Benjamin Hardy who had 22 May 1760 turned his interest over to Thomas Crawford. 640 acres on Beaverdam Swamp, Eelbeck, John Daniels. Hannah Yancey. Wit. T. Carr, A. Nash."
