Halifax Co., NC, DB 7, p. 332, 17 Sept 1761: "Benja. Hardy and Mary his wife and Hannah Yancey widow of Jeconias Yancey of Halifax Co. to John Minge of Charles City Co. Virginia. 75 pounds of Virginia. 301 acres which had been purchased from John Leonard 17 May 1741 by Wm. Alston dec'd of Edgecombe Co. who was the father of Mary Hardy wife of sd Benja. Hardy, and Wm. Alston willed the land to sd Mary and her sister Elizabeth Crawford, joining Miry Branch. Benja. Hardy, Mary Hardy. Wit: John Eelbank, David Crawley. Sept. Ct. 1761 Examined by Montfort Eelbeck, both Mary Hardy and Hannah Yancey relinquished their rights to dower."[1]

Halifax Co., NC, DB 9, p. 262, 5 Dec 1761: "Thomas Crawford to Hannah Yancey of Halifax Co. 5 shillings proclamation money. 200 acres which was part of a Granville Grant to sd Crawford (date blank), joining Thos. Kearney, William Alston dec'd, Hugh Hardy. Thomas Crawford. Wit: William Hays, Thos. Kearney. Jul Ct. 1765."[2]

Halifax Co., NC, DB 8, p. 363, Jan Ct. 1764: "Hannah Yancey of Halifax Co. executrix of the will her late husband Jeconias Yancey to Thomas Crawford planter of Craven Co., South Carolina. Jeconias Yancey apparently had owed a debt to Benjamin Hardy who had 22 May 1760 turned his interest over to Thomas Crawford. 640 acres on Beaverdam Swamp, Eelbeck, John Daniels. Hannah Yancey. Wit. T. Carr, A. Nash."[3]

Halifax Co., NC, DB 9, p. 440, 1767: "Thomas Crawford and Elizabeth his wife of Craven Co South Carolina to Hannah Yancey of Halifax Co. executrix of Jeconias Yancey dec'd 'and in trust for the severall heirs of him.' 11 (no month) 1767. 65 pounds of Virginia. 3 acres which Joseph John Alston had conveyed to William Alston 6 Jan 1737 and descended to sd William Alston's heirs at his death, on both sides of Beaverdam Swamp. Thos. Crawford, Elizabeth Crawford. Wit: Saml. Benton, John Williams Jr. 12 Mar 1767."[4]

"South Carolina, 29 Apr 1767. Book G-3, p. 579. L&R. Thomas Crawford, planter & Elizabeth his wife to Thomas Lide, planter, both of St. Marks Parish, Craven Co., for £1500. 150 a. on SW side Peedee River, granted 24 Mar. 1756 by Gov. James Glen to Abraham Lundy; who conveyed to John Crawford; who bequeathed to his son, said Thomas; bounding SW on James Gillespie & vacant land; NW on William Hainsworth. Wit: John Winters, John Bohannon. Bef. Thomas Wade, JP. Rec. 7 Aug 1767."[5]

"South Carolina, 1 Oct 1767. Book L-3, p. 401. Conveyance. Thomas Crawford, planter, to Charles Bedingfield, tavern keeper, both of Craven Co., for £1500, 300 a. known as Carraw Bluff on NE side of Pee Dee River on which Michael Crawford now lives"..."which tract was granted 29 Jan 1742 by Lt. Gov. William Bull to David Roach who by L&R dated 10 & 11 July 1749 to John Crawford Sr.; who bequeathed to his son Michael Crawford; who on 22 Sept. 1767 conveyed to Thomas Crawford. Wit: John Bohannon, Elizabeth Bohannon. Before Alexander Mackintosh, JP, on 26 Sept 1768. Rec. 10 Oct 1768."[6]
