Biography

When Benjamin Franklin Crawford[1] was born on September 15, 1889,[2] in Laurens, South Carolina, his father, James, was 31 and his mother, Susan, was 39.[3] He married Bettie Marie Wood on December 21, 1913, in Laurens, South Carolina.[4] They had five children:

  • Horace Haskell (1920–1920)[5]
  • Benton F. (1924–1985)
  • Gene Edward (1928–)
  • Gerald Wood (1932–2007)
  • Mary Carolyn (1935–)

He died of Hodgkin's disease on April 9, 1958, in Laurens, South Carolina,[6] at the age of 68, and was buried in Gray Court, South Carolina.[7]
