Notes

Rae Ball is Jacob's 2nd great grand nephew

Sylvia Foster wrote: "My father and his brothers were all told by their father that they were Scotch-Irish.
King James, son of Mary, Queen of Scots, after he became King of England in the 1600s, established Scottish Colonies in Northern Ireland hoping to improve his reign in England. The Scots maintained separate colonies from the Irish in North-Eastern Ireland. Famine and feudalism drove others peasant families from Scotland to Ireland. From there they began to emigrate to America."
Sylvia visited Scotland in 2003, especially the area SE of Glasgow where the Crawfords originated. She could not pinpoint a village or distinct area as the place. It seems the Crawfords have wandering feet. Simeon was born in Canada, went to MI in 1855, Wisconsin in 1870, Kansas in 1880 and died in Florida.
It seems David was a UEL supporting the British in the war of 1775-1783, so he could have arrived in the US anytime after 1760. (END of quote)
The 1837 list of surnames from an 1837 census lists a Jacob Crawford on lot 17 conc 5 Pickering.
