Biography

Fanny Crawford was born 21 February 1879 in Boston, Linconshire, England. She was the daughter of Frank Crawford and Sarah Stainfield.[1]

Growing up in Boston, Lincolnshire was likely tough for Fanny. Her father, Frank was a day labourer, and may have had problems keeping steady employment. The family was poor. Fanny's mother, Sarah was probably sick much of Fanny's childhood. A younger sister, Martha Louisa Crawford was born in 1884. She was named for Sarah's' sister, Martha Louisa Stainfield.

When Fanny was twelve years old, her mother, Sarah died of phthisis (tuberculosis).

Fanny was married to Herbert Lake on March 23, 1899 at St. Botoloph Church, Boston, Lincolnshire. Both Fanny and Herbert signed the register. Both Fanny's father, Frank, and her sister, Martha were witnesses, and they both signed the register.[2]

Fanny immigrated to Canada in 1926. She passed away in 1949.
