Jane Crawford was born in 15 Jun 1851, and christened 10 Aug 1851, at St. Cuthbert Parish, Midlothian, Scotland to David Crawford (1812-1884) and Margaret (Tennant) Crawford (1823-1897).[1] She lived with her family at Grange Loan Gatehouse, Canaan C, in St. Cuthbert Parish, Midlothian, Scotland. She later emigrated to Canada with her family about 1854.
The family lived at Brockville for a short time before settling in Kingston, Canada West.[2]
