Biography

George Crawford, son of Gus Thomas Crawford and Rebecca (Slusher) Crawford. His mother died in 1905. His father was murdered 31 Oct 1915 at his home ten miles southwest of Stonewall, Oklahoma. In the 1910 U.S. Federal Census, George Crawford, age 8, is living at home with his father, Gus T. Crawford, step-mother, Ida Crawford, Joel Thacker, Ida's son by a previous marriage, Stella Crawford, age 2, and female cousin of his father's Lillar Townsend, age 33, born Arkansas. In the 1920 U.S. Federal Census, George Crawford, age 18, grandson, living in the home of his mother's parents, James A. and Angie Slusher, in Perry, McClain County, Oklahoma.[1]
