I'm currently located in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada; studying to graduate from The National Institute of Genealogical Studies with 4 certifications (Research Methodology, Canadian Records, English Records and Professional Development). After that, I hope to begin helping others to climb their own family trees!

IMPORTANT NOTE 1: I use WikiTree** and most other genealogy websites (ie, Ancestry, MyHeritage, FindMyPast) as research tools only. This means that various sized portions of my tree that is posted on any of particular site is not necessarily correct or up to date - likely not, in fact. In order to stem the propagation of incorrect information, I keep my tree and information private.

    • With that said, I aim to use WikiTree more often and as intended - to create a worldwide family tree.

IMPORTANT NOTE 2: I have profiles on as many genealogy sites as possible but I do not check all of them regularly. I try to have it set up so that I receive email notification of private messages but due to rowdy internet gremlins that doesn't always work out. Please email me directly! GENETIC ANCESTRY TESTED WITH: 23andMe, AncestryDNA, FamilyTreeDNA and LivingDNA. - results uploaded to: GEDmatch*, MyHeritage, Geni, WikiTree - My Haplogroup:H; subclade: H69 - I am the administrator of 5+ tests by closely connected family members, 3+ tests closely connected to my husband's family and 2+ tests not biologically connected to me at all. - * I do use GEDmatch (albeit, I'm not entirely familiar with it yet).

I'm looking forward to "meeting" and sharing with all my relatives - distant and not so distant! I have lots to share! And sharing is how we ensure our history isn't lost.

Now, I'm not always great at responding (I'm sure life gets in the way for you too) but you have my permission to BOTHER me repeatedly! Really!

Hi and Welcome Lisa! I'm glad you found us. To become a full member (aka Wiki Genealogist), you’ll need to sign the Honor Code. For a list of helpful links, please click my name and check out the links I list under my "Greeter" section - especially the Sources links and the links to my fellow greeters Debby and Maggie, who have helpful information on their profile pages also. Welcome to WikiTree, Lisa! We're glad to have you here. What are your family history interests?

If you decide you'd like to link your ancestors to our shared tree, read the Honor Code, and then choose that you'd like to volunteer. One of the greeters would be glad to confirm your intention to become a WikiGenealogist.

If you need any help getting started, check out the Help section, or visit the G2G forum.
