Biography

Excerp from obituary/story on Bio on Find A Grave memorial # 84449845 for eliza Cree Troxell: Eliza was daughter of David Cree. David Cree was one of the pioneer settlers of Reade township, then called White township, and settled near Glasgow, Pennsylvania, where he raised a large family and lived to a ripe old age. eliza married George Troxell, also a settler of the township. He bought a farm where the Bear Ridge coake ovens are located. There they lived and reared nine children. When the Civil war broke out, two of their sons responded to their county's call. One son (David) never came back, he sleeps in southern soil. Eliza was largely connected in the country. Rev Wagner, the Lutheran minister at glasgow, conducted the funeral service and C J Troxell was funeral director. Interment was made in Pleasant Hill Cemetery.
