This indenture made the 26th day of September in the Year of our Lord One Thousand Seven Hundred and Sixty One between Edward Creekmur, Jonas Creekmur, Thomas Creekmur, Nicholas Creekmur, Foreman Creekmur, and Isabella Sikes all of the County of Norfolk of one part; and James Webb of the county aforesaid Merchant of the other part. WHEREAS Edward Creekmur the elder late of this county DECEASED...duly made and published his last Will and Testament in Writing Dated in the Month of September in the Year MDCCXXXIX...soon after publishing the said Will said the Testator died, leaving the following nine children living at his Death, to wit, Edward, Edmund, Thomas, Solomon, Jonas, Joseph, Benjamin, Willis, and Isabella...and WHEREAS the said Edmond Creekmur departed this life leaving Nichols his eldest Son and Heir at Law, And the said Solomon also depared this life leaving the said Foreman his Eldest Son and Heir at Law. And the said Joseph also Departed this Life leaving Joseph an Infant his Eldest Son and Heir at Law. and the said Benjamin hath also departed this life Intestate and without Issue leaving his Brother the said Edward his Heir at Law, and the said Isabella intermarried with Joseph Sikes her last Husband who is Dead, and the said Isabella is now a Widow. And the said Willis is also Dead and hath left Caleb his Eldest Son and Heir at Law...NOW THIS INDENTURE WITNESSETH that the said Edward Creekmur, Jonas Creekmur, Thomas Creekmur, NIchols Creekmur, Foreman Creekmur & Isabella Sikes as well for Removing all Doubts and Controversys concerning the said James Webbs Title to the said Land, and to Quiet him in the Possession thereof...
(They give up claim to a piece of land sold earlier by some of the legatees of Edward Creekmur Senr. who sold it through some misinterpretation of his will)
