Cornelius Crenshaw was born about 1739 in the Virginia Colony to Sarah Dabney, age 35, and John Crenshaw, age 35. He married Martisha Winn in 1760 in Lunenburg, Virginia. They had five children during their marriage.
Cornelius was a patriot during the revolutionary war, providing materials to the soldiers. [1]
In the first census in the United States taken in 1790. Cornelius Crenshaw was enumerated by Was. Bennett as having ten white souls living in his household. [2]
He died on January 9, 1786, in Lunenberg County at the age of 56.
