Biography

Jacob Cressman "was born in Limerick County, Pennsylvania, March 6th, 1774. He was married to Elizabeth Longenecker who was born August 10th, 1778, and died May 3rd 1858. They resided in Wilmot Township, near the Schmidt Mennonite Meeting House, where he died July 8th 1833. His family consisted of seven children. [1]

According to the Eby book referenced, Jacob was the son of Nicolaus Cressman III (born 1751 in Limerick County, Pennsylvania), who was the son of Nicolaus Cressman II, born about 1727, soon after the arrival of his father, Nicolaus Cressman I, a native of Switzerland [2]
