Biography
Nelson was born in 1817. He was the son of John Creveling and Charity Moore. Married Jan 9, 1940 in St Pauls Ch, Bloomsburg, by Rev B Hutchins th Phoebe Eck. He passed away in 1897.
In October 1845, Nelson and Phoebe left Columbia County, Pennsylvania and settled in Lockport, Midland, Michigan where he purchased 160 acres of land from William Rittenhouse Eck, his brother-in-law. Nelson improved the land over a two year period and then sold it and purchased more land, about 325 acres, in the same general area being about one and a half miles from the village of Three Rivers. The Creveling family established a fine farm there and had a total of ten children..
