James Crews (aka Crew) was born in 1685 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He was the son of William Crews (possibly a Quaker minister) and his wife, Elizabeth (Unknown) Crews. William had emigrated from England, most likely with his wife ca. 1683.
James Crews married Magdalena (Unknown) in 1709 in Philadelphia or Burlington NJ, very likely in a Quaker ceremony. She was born ca. 1689 in Philadelphia and was no doubt a Quaker too. They had 2 children:
James Crews, Senior, died in March 1715 and his will was proven on April 13, 1715.
