Biography

Jane Crews[1][2] was born 12 Aug 1800, in Cumberland County, Kentucky. Her parents were Redman Crews (1764–1835) and Sarah Morton (1765–1802).[3]

She spent her childhood in Kentucky, perhaps living just over the county line in Tennessee for a time.[4] She met William Page, probably in Cumberland County. They were married about 1817-1822, likely in Kentucky, where they both lived.[4][2]

William and Jane Page had the following children, the first two born in Kentucky, while the remainder were born in Missouri:

Mary Jane Page (1823–1902)[2]
George Washington Page Sr (1825–1915)[2]
Andrew Jackson Page (1828–1898)[2]
William Redman Page (1830–1858)[2]
John Emery Page Sr. (1832–1875)[2]
Kemp Scott Page, Corporal (1834–1866)[2]
Franklin Montgomery Page (1837-1918)[2]
Francis Marion "Jim" Page (1837–1914)[2]
Columbus "Lum" Newton Page (1846–1920)[2]

Jane Page passed away sometime after Mar 3, 1846, in Moniteau County, Missouri, following the birth of her last child, Columbus Newton Page.[5] Her husband remarried in Feb 1847, (when Franklin Mongomery Page was young).[6][3]

Note

  • Jane (Crews) Page was a full blood Cherokee according to Beulah Hayes, who said that Ran Wells told her that information. Ran Wells married Jane Page, daughter of William Page and his second wife, Minerva Smith[7]

Research Needed

Need proof her name was Mary Jane. On a deed in Moniteau County, Missouri, she was shown as Jane Page, as in all other records found. Need Source for her birthdate. Birthplaces are given variously by her children on the 1880 census.
