Sources

  • Hamilton County, Fla, US census records for 1850, 1860, and 1870. On the 1860 census, her husband's household included Joseph (50), Jenrette (60, and Isham (18) Crews, presumably her brother and his family. They may have been visiting from Georgia on the day the census was taken.
  • From memory, there is a family sheet on a Joseph Crews that may be her father, which I located in the archives of Huxford Genealogical Society of Homerville, Georgia. None of their extensive documentation is online and my photocopies from that day are packed up. Huxford focuses on the genealogy of Wiregrass Georgia; the Society's home page is here Deborah Shaw 13:48, 12 December 2015 (EST)
  • Compiled information on her son Jackson.
  • A 2008 post to Cannon list on Ancestry.com by her grandson Staton’s great-grandaughter Dani Cannon confirmed that her birth name was Crews.
