Biography

Margaret was the daughter of James Crichton Ruthven by his wife Isabel Nevay..

Margaret married the Rt.Hon.George Kinnaird, the son and heir of the laird of Inchture in 1650 after their banns were called severally at Essie and Longforgan.^[1] He inherited the title of Inchture, purchased Rossie and was knighted. Margaret had six sons and a daughter by him. Margaret latterly known as Lady Rossie.

On 10 Apr 1662 an Instrument of Sasine was granted in favour of Dame Margaret Crichtone, spouse of Sir George Kinnaird of Rossie,knight, in liferent, of the lands of Rossieclero and mill thereof; following on bond of provision, dated 21^[2]October 1661, by said Sir George Kinnaird
