Robert (Crichton) Crichton IVth of Sanquhar is a member of Clan Crichton.
Robert was the son of Robert Chrichton and Elizabeth.[1]
He married secondly Elizabeth Erskine, daughter of Sir John Erskine of Kinnoull.[2] They had issue:
- Sir Robert, 1st Lord Crichton of Sanquhar d. fr Jul 1494 - Feb 1494/95[2]
- Christian d. fr Nov 1477 - Mar 1477/78[3]
- Margaret[4]
- Mariota, m. Malcolm Crawford of Kilbirnie[4]
He lived at Sanquhar, Scotland.
He died between Jul 1494 and Feb 1495.[2]
Research Notes
- Robert was married the second time in 1457 and one can allow that his first marriage was likely long before 1456 but using 1456 as a basis, one can infer his birth was before 1442. However, his daughter, Christian, married on Feb 1451 placing her birth probably prior to 1430) and the birth of her son Robert places her birth before 1424 and this Robert's birth prior to 1409.
