When Emily Crider was born on February 18, 1818, in Orangeburg, South Carolina, her father, Frederick, was 54, and her mother, Susanah, was 50. ^[1] She married Hardy Cain on December 27, 1834, in Franklin, Mississippi. ^[2]They had eight children in 22 years.
