Biography

Frederick Arthur Crisp was born on 27 June 1851 in Walworth, Surrey, England, the eldest son of Sarah Steedman and Frederick Augustus Crisp.[1][2][3][4][5][6]

He was a family historian and published many texts of genealogical interest at his private press in London.[1] These texts included:

  • Fragmenta Genealogica (volume 1 published in 1889)
  • Visitations of England and Wales
  • The Parish Registers of Pakenham, Suffolk (1888)

He married Gertrude South on 21 October 1880. [7] They had six daughters:

At the time of the 1901 England Census, Frederick and his family were living at Grove Park, Camberwell, London.[5] Frederick was employed as a patent medicine vendor.[5]

Frederick died on 25 April 1922.[1][2] His remains were interred at All Saints Churchyard in Little Wenham, Suffolk, England.[2] He is commemorated with a stained glass window in St John's Church, Farncombe, Surrey.
