Cornelia was born in about 1823 in North Carolina, USA.

When Cornelia was about 20 she married Benjamin Hawes on 12 September 1843 in Tippah, Mississippi, USA.^[1] The couple had 3 children: Harrison C. Hawes, Lunock (Perhaps Laura) J. Hawes and Hester E. Hawes.

Cornelia died at the age of about 32 in about 1855 in Tippah, Mississippi, USA.
