  6. Obituary: Lithgow Mercury (NSW : 1898 - 1954) Thu 7 Oct 1954 Page 5 Death Of Mrs. S. Tindall: As a mark of respect to a former staff member, flags, at the Cooerwull School were today flown at half mast in recognition of the late Mrs. Marjorie Doris Tindall, of Vale Road, who passed away in Lithgow Hospital yesterday morning at the age of 51 years.
Deceased was a sewing teacher at the school for many years after coming to Lithgow from Wollombi, in the South Coast area, 25 years ago.
Although she had been in failing health for the past two years, her death came as a shock to her many friends. She entered hospital only a fortnight ago.
Mrs. Tindall took a keen interest in Methodist Church activities and was devoted to her home and family. She was held in the highest esteem by all with whom she came into contact whilst in Lithgow and despite her recent ill-health, and was a woman of cheerful disposition.
Mrs. Tindall is survived by her husband, Mr. Sam Tindall, son Ronald (Lithgow), daughters Margaret and Jennifer (Lithgow) three sisters, Mrs. J, D. MacDonald (Wyong), Mrs. E. R. Wheen (Gladesville) and Mrs. N. C. Bowen (Drummoyne) and a brother, Mr. A. J. Croft, of Artarmon.
In the Mort-street Methodist Church this morning the Rev. J. W. Hill described the late Mrs. Tindall as a good citizen and a warm hearted neighbor whose home was an example of true family devotion. He said she came to Lithgow as a school teacher and was one who possessed a very keen mind. Unfortunately her physical frame was not nearly as strong as her spiritual vigor and courage and recently her health had suffered. ..But at the same time, said Mr. Hill, even with her final spiritual reward in sight, her mind was keen and her faith strong. From her own Sunday School days as a child she had gained great solace from quoting the 23rd Psalm, "The Lord is my Shepherd," and the sermon quotation from John, "In My Father's House there are many mansions and I go to prepare a place for you . . ."
Following the service, the cortege moved to Sydney, where cremation took place at the Northern Suburbs Crematorium.
