Biography

Susan was the second wife of widower John Thomas Coffman (1828–1890), married c.1856 after his first wife, Matilda J. Croft died; Susan and Thomas had seven children.^[1]

OBITUARY^[2] Mrs. Susan Ann Coffman, pioneer resident passed away at her home NE of Mondamin on Tuesday evening. She was born Feb 19, 1837 and was nearly 92 years old. Funeral services will be held at the LDS church, Magnolia Friday at 2 p.m. Burial will be in Magnolia Cemetery.

Orson, Ia., Dec 1 - Mrs. John T Coffman, 91, since 1865 a resident of Orson, Ia., who died Wednesday afternoon at her home of declining old age, was buried Friday afternoon at 2 o'clock in the Magnolia, Ia. cemetery. Funeral services were held at the Reorganized Church of Latter Day Saints with Elder J.F. Mintun of Council Bluffs officiated. Mrs. Coffman is survived by three sons, Donald and William Coffman of Wagner, S.D., and Elmer Coffman of Orson; seven grandchildren, seven great grandchildren and one great great-grandchild.
