Note: an unsourced family tree had mixed up their son William with another man: Wendell William "Whity" Ellis (c1896-c1924), who emigrated to Canada and was married there in 1920. Although this other man's parents were also named William and Louisa, other details such as his full name and birthplace do not match. The son of this couple remained in Rochdale.

In 1939 Louisa Ellis (born in 1870) lived at 6 Grocers Shop Jutland Avenue in Rochdale - also at the same address were her husband William Ellis (1870) and daughter Constance E Ellis, later Tinker (1906).[9]
